Dacor Refrigerator Error Codes

Dacor Refrigerator Error Code F5

Thermistors are temperature sensors that are used to monitor the temperature of the refrigerator. If the thermistor fails, the refrigerator will not be able to accurately control the temperature.

This can lead to a number of problems, including:

  • The refrigerator may not be cold enough.
  • The refrigerator may not be defrosting properly.
  • The ice maker may not be working properly.

If you see the error code F5 on your Dacor refrigerator, you can try to troubleshoot the problem yourself by following these steps:

  1. Check the power supply to the refrigerator. Make sure that the refrigerator is plugged in and that the power is turned on.
  2. Check the connections to the thermistor. Make sure that the connections are secure and that there are no broken wires.
  3. Test the thermistor with a multimeter. The resistance of the thermistor should change as the temperature changes. If the resistance does not change, the thermistor is faulty and needs to be replaced.

DIY Repair

If you are comfortable with basic electrical repairs, you can replace the thermistor yourself. To do this, you will need to locate the thermistor. The thermistor is usually located in the freezer compartment, near the evaporator coil. Once you have located the thermistor, you can disconnect the power to the refrigerator and then remove the old thermistor. Be sure to note the orientation of the old thermistor so that you can install the new thermistor in the same orientation. Once you have installed the new thermistor, reconnect the power to the refrigerator and test the refrigerator to make sure that the error code is gone.

The thermistor for your Dacor refrigerator can be purchased from a Dacor authorized dealer or online. When purchasing a new thermistor, be sure to specify the model number of your refrigerator.
